  • CNC Setup / Operator Machinist Job Description


    The CNC Setup / Operator Machinist will be responsible for:

    Job Description:


    We are looking for a skilled CNC Machinist to produce machined parts by programming, setting up, and operating a computer numerical control (CNC) machine; maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; maintaining equipment and supplies. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure.

    Accomplishes organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.




    • Plans machining by studying work orders, blueprints, engineering plans, materials, specifications, orthographic drawings, reference planes, locations of surfaces, and machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions and tolerances (GD&T).

    • Plans stock inventory by checking stock to determine amount available; anticipating needed stock; placing and expediting orders for stock; verifying receipt of stock.

    • Programs mills and lathes by entering instructions, including zero and reference points; setting tool registers, offsets, compensation, and conditional switches; calculating requirements, including basic math, geometry, and trigonometry; proving part programs.

    • Sets-up mills and lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, attachments, collets, bushings, cams, gears, stops, and stock pushers; indicating vices; tramming heads.

    • Loads feed mechanism by lifting stock into position.

    • Verifies settings by measuring positions, first-run part, and sample workpieces; adhering to international standards.

    • Maintains specifications by observing drilling, grooving, and cutting, including turning, facing, knurling and thread chasing operations; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting and reprogramming controls; sharpening and replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.

    • Maintains safe operations by adhering LOTO safety procedures and regulations.

    • Maintains equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; troubleshooting malfunctions; calling for repairs.

    • Maintains continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.




    • Proven experience as CNC Setup/Operator Machinist. (Prefer minimum of 10yrs of CNC Setup experience) (Familiar with CNC Hass lathe and Mazak Mill is plus)

    • Organization goals by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different request.

    • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

    • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)


  • Fabrication / Welder


    The Fabrication / Welder will be responsible for:

    Job Description:


    We are looking for a skilled Fabricator/Welder to cut and join metals and other materials at our facilities or construction sites. You will operate appropriate equipment to put together mechanical structures or parts with a great deal of precision. Your job is important as it provides the foundation for strong infrastructure.

    A Fabricator/Welder must be competent in using potentially dangerous equipment following all safety precautions. The ideal candidate will also have a steady hand and great attention to detail. Knowledge of different kinds of metal and their properties is essential.




    • Read blueprints and drawings and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.

    • Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.

    • Set up components for welding according to specifications. (e.g. cut material with powered saws to match measurements)

    • Operate angle grinders to prepare the parts that must be welded.

    • Align components using calipers, rulers etc. and clamp pieces.

    • Weld components using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment in various positions. (vertical, horizontal or overhead)

    • Repair machinery and other components by welding pieces and filling gaps.

    • Test and inspect welded surfaces and structure to discover flaws

    • Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.

    • Experience in a metal processing industry and strong working knowledge with metal/stainless steel fabrication.




    • Proven experience as TIG stainless steel welder and Fabricator.

    • Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, Wire Feed, etc.)

    • Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)

    • Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings

    • Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)

    • Knowledge in Sanitation Equipment’s, stainless steel fabrication, etc. is prefer.

    • Deftness and attention to detail



  • Mechanical Design Engineer

    Job Summary

    At Layton Systems our mission is to achieve and maintain status as a world class manufacturer of custom engineered Food Handling and Processing Equipment required for the Food Processing Industries. We are seeking an experienced, highly skilled individual to join our Design Team.

    Responsibilities and Duties

    A skilled & experienced individual to perform all aspects of design associated with our products.





    • Develop concepts and produce complex SolidWorks 3D design models/assemblies and drawings for new product designs.

    • Develop fabrication Drawings, fixtures and tooling as required for new and existing product designs.

    • Convert previous AutoCAD 2D designs, parts, and assemblies to SolidWorks 3D models/assemblies.

    • Modify existing AutoCAD 2D designs and SolidWorks 3D design models/assemblies as required following company revision and engineering design change notice procedures.

    • Transforms initial rough product designs into working documents using SolidWorks

    • Reviews engineering drawings and designs to ensure adherence to established specifications and standards.

    • Work with shop personnel to research and resolve production issues as required

    • Work closely with shop personnel during the manufacturing process of first time of new product designs.

    • Working within the engineering department.

    • Work is closely managed by Senior Engineers.

    • Preform design calculations.

    • Preform Finite Element Analysis and Modal Analysis using SolidWorks’ Simulation Package.

    • Collaborates with design originators to resolve discrepancies between original drawings and final CAD designs.


    Qualifications and Skills


    • Experience in mechanical design using SolidWorks.

    • Experience using 2D drafting with AutoCAD.

    • Must be able to produce full engineering documentation including detailed fabrication drawings and bill of materials.

    • Must be proficient with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.

    • Must have experience working in fast-paced metal fabrication shop with knowledge of welding processes and symbology.

    • Basic metal machining practices and surface finishing knowledge a plus.
